Hi,
Sorry for posting in English but my Finnish is terrible.
I live in a rintamamiestalo built in 1950 and noticed holes on the rivinteeraus. I imagined it was to circulate a bit of air from the back space but when looking with a camera the holes go almost all the way through the external basement wall.
Would anyone know if this was a common thing and the reason for it?
Here are videos of the holes:

Cheers.
Forgot to mention that the camera went around 25 to 30 cm inside the wall.

Re: Holes on the basement walls
Looks like a old water pipe location. Is this near floor or somewhere else?pedrocalima kirjoitti:Hi,

You should fill external wall with something and then fix "rivinteeraus".

Re: Holes on the basement walls
Hi!
In fact there are maybe 10 of these holes from 50cm to 150cm so pretty much in the middle of the walls. Almost feel like they were done to maintain a lower temperature in the basement, maybe to maintain food?
My plan was exactly that, fill the holes with cement and also the inside wall. One day when I have to open the outside to do salaoja I will see if there is anything strange outside.
